• Are you the photographer who will be taking the pictures? If not, can I meet with that photographer? I am the photographer who will be taking your photographs. If your wedding date is already booked, I have an associate shooter who may be available to shoot your magical day.
• How long have you been a professional wedding photographer? May I see samples of your work? I have been in the photography industry for over 12 years. Of those twelve, nine have been spent photographing weddings. Samples of my work may be found on my home page, or on my Facebook Fan Page.
• What packages do you offer? What do they include? I offer four wedding collections to choose from, and I also build custom collections for the couple that knows exactly what they want. Every wedding captured by Britney Layne Photography will include up to 250 4×6 prints, an online password-protected gallery, and a 5-year backup guarantee for future ordering. I still have images from well over a decade ago. Each collection is different, some include bridal sessions, engagement sessions, etc.
• Do you allow couples to purchase the negatives? I do not shoot with film, but I do offer digital negatives on a flash drive. I no longer offer DVDs of weddings or events. They get scratched too easily and cost a pretty penny to replace. The flash drive costs no more than the DVD, I just prefer the reliability of a flash drive.
• Do you include reprints or albums in your pricing? Every collection comes with print/product credit. You choose what prints or products are included in your collection. Who am I to decide what is best for your big day?
• What is the reorder price, if I decide to order additional prints later? There is no fee for re-orders. Just pay for the prints and/or products you would like to order. Simple as that!
• What type of photography do you specialize in? (candid, portraits, photojournalistic, black and white or a combination?) I specialize in a very creative and journalistic approach to wedding photography. I blend candid shots with posed portraits to meet each bride and grooms requirements. I also shoot in color exclusively. Images can be converted to black and white later.
• Do you shoot digitally? I do. I also offer medium format, large format, and 35mm at an additional cost. Please inquire about these rates.
• Have you photographed at my ceremony and reception site before? Are you familiar with the lighting/layout there? Let me know where you’re getting married when you contact me. Chances are, I have. If not, I always go to the site(s) prior to the wedding and take test shots in many areas.
• How many other weddings do you have that night? Are there any time limits as to how long you can stay? I do not book more than one wedding per day. If a photographer you’re looking at does this, please keep looking. One cannot be distracted by a prior wedding to capture all the raw emotion of yours. Each collection includes a different coverage amount. If you require more time, this can be accommodated.
• When will my proofs be ready? How long can I keep them? I typically have wedding proofs ready within 2 weeks of your date. I start editing that evening and the following days. Within 72 hours of your wedding, you can expect an email with your gallery link and your password to access it. Once I have issued this, I will begin uploading them to your private gallery.
• Can I view my photos online? Do you offer online ordering for my guests? You can! Wait for me to send you a link with your password and anyone you give that to may order.
• What happens if you are sick or have an emergency on my wedding day? I have an associate shooter who is perfectly capable of shooting your wedding. I have confidence in her shooting technique, style, and composition- as should you.
• In the event of equipment failure, can you guarantee that a backup camera will be on hand? Always. Every professional photographer will have 2 sets of everything in their bag. Again, if a photographer you’re looking at does not have a second camera on hand, back away slowly.
• How far in advance must I book your services? Most brides begin booking their photographer 9-12 months in advance. If yours is closer than that, please inquire any way. If I am booked, I can at least point you in the right direction to a capable professional.
• What is your cancellation policy? Deposits are 100% refundable up to 60 days from your wedding date. Anything closer to your date than that, and the deposit is non-refundable. This is to cover the cost of any weddings I may have missed booking for holding your date.
• Is a deposit required? If so, when and how much? Yes. To book and hold your wedding date, I require a 50% deposit. This exact price will fluctuate with the collection you choose to purchase.
